Speaker: Penny O’Connor
Penny will talk about her work in a public-private partnership tackling the unacceptably high death rate of women in PNG – the trials, tribulations and triumphs of working at the grassroots level.
She will also provide her perspective on pandemics.
Penny is a local resident and public health specialist who has spent 15 years working in a range of developing countries (Afghanistan, Somalia, Myanmar etc) in both clinical and strategic management roles. Her partner, Adam Childs, has recently returned from working in Sierra Leone for Médicins Sans Frontières.
