Speaker: Dr Yvette Tinsley, Faculty of Law, Victoria University of Wellington
Dissatisfaction with criminal justice outcomes, particularly in sexual violence cases, has led to arguments for reform, incorporating alternative approaches. Drawing on her research on both juries and sexual offence trials, Yvette will discuss options to improve the delivery of justice in criminal cases.
Yvette is a Reader in the Faculty of Law, VUW. Her teaching and research interests lie in the fields of criminal law and justice, evidence, jury decision-making, and law and science. She has a special interest in empirical research focused on legal policy reform.
