Indonesia’s decade-long rise to middle-income status, an attractive emerging market with enormous potential for investment growth is by now well known.
Stable, vibrant democratic politics, legitimate elections, and domestic peace and safety have been the underpinnings of Indonesia’s rise in recent yeas. A large middle class, dynamic free press, and very high consumer confidence now characterize Indonesia. However, an atmosphere of economic nationalism has taken hold in the run-up to the nation’s presidential election on July 9.
This presentation will provide an overview of Indonesia’s growth and potential, explain the outcome of the hotly contested presidential election, and outline the key risks and opportunities in Indonesia in coming years.
